Shish Kabob Marinade- A little slice of heaven in your mouth!

Had the hankering for my parents FAMOUS Shish Kabob....and luck for you I've decided to share the little gem of a recipe with you today.  I believe my parents came across this recipe in a gourmet cookbook, years and years ago...but not in a galaxy far, far away.  Sorry, I just couldn't resist the temptation to go there!  Anyway... they may have tweaked the recipe here and there, I'm not too sure.  The only thing I do know, is that it is DELICIOUS!  Are you ready?  Here we go....

WARNING **  WARNING **  WARNING   - this recipe stains clothing!!! so watch out! (turmeric)

Ingredients for the Marinade:

1/2 cup of Fresh Lemon Juice
        2 teaspoons Turmeric
1 teaspoon Ginger (I used powdered)
4-5 cloves of crushed Garlic (I used, ah yeah 5)
        3 dried Chili Peppers
        3 teaspoons of Salt
1 teaspoon of freshly ground Coriander Seeds
        3 tablespoons of Olive Oil

Mix all above ingredients except the olive oil, place liquid in ziplock bag along with your pre-sliced lamb.  I have also tried this on Pork Chops and it was yummy as well.  Someday I plan to try it on Tri-Tip.  Let meat marinate overnight, then grill.

One more thing I would like to do is to give a SHOUT OUT to  the AMAZING Cuisinart Citrus Juicer my Mom gave me.  It is not only easy to use, and super easy to clean... it even comes in my favorite color!!

See what a great job the juicer did of extracting all the juice!  And did I say..."the juicer is SUPER EASY TO CLEAN UP"

Top row, left to right: Chili Pepper, Salt, Coriander Seeds.
Bottom Row, left to right Turmeric, Ginger Powder, and Garlic.

This is what the Coriander Seeds look like once they have been crushed.  The smell is so fragrant, and is essential to the marinade coming out perfect.

Adding the fresh Garlic

This is what it looks like when finished.
In tripled the recipe when I made this.

Here the meat is ready to go into the refrigerator overnight to marinate.

On the Grill

Cooked to Perfection!!! A little slice of heaven in your mouth!
